- plan, prepare tender and administer road maintenance and Regional contracts
- perform inspection and administration including warranty requirements for highway Regional contracts including In Scope Minor Capital contained in the Area Maintenance Contract
- provide technical and administrative support to ensure contract delivery

**Technical Expertise**:

- You have demonstrated knowledge of engineering principles related to highway construction, maintenance, and road design.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of contract preparation, tendering practices, administration and the monitoring of warranties throughout the duration of a contract.
- You have knowledge of relevant legislation and policies pertaining to the preparation of tenders, contract administration and contract payments.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of construction safety methods and practices.
- You have the ability to read and interpret contract documents and plans.
- You have demonstrated knowledge of financial reporting procedures to maintain records, monitor budgets and forecast expenditures.

**Analytical, Evaluative and Decision-Making Skills**:

- You have the demonstrated knowledge to review, recommend and identify road rehabilitation alternatives.
- You have proven analytical, evaluation and decision-making skills to assess alternatives, evaluate tender submissions and recommend technical solutions.

**Communication and Interpersonal Skills**:

- You have proven communication and interpersonal skills to use tact and diplomacy when interacting with both internal and external stakeholders.
- You have proven technical writing skills to produce technical reports, correspondence specifications and contract documents.
- You can establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- You can negotiate design and contract language on behalf of the ministry in a productive and constructive manner.
