**Role Responsibilities**:
Reporting to the Manager of Permitting and Exemptions, the main purpose of this role is to deliver the TEC log Haul permit program to both mills and the transportation industry. The Log Haul Specialist is TEC's front line contact for stakeholders of the Log Haul Permit Program; liaising with mills, commercial carriers, other government departments and industry associations. The Specialist is responsible for the coordination and management of log haul agreements, route maps and commercial carrier permits; all of which support the safe and efficient transportation of over 200,000 loads of logs each year.
The roles and responsibilities of this position include:
- Deliver Log Haul, Long Combination Vehicle (LCV), and Dangerous Goods Permit Programs.
- Manage Dimension and Weight agreements between TEC and mills for the movement of raw forest products.
- Coordinate the development and verification of log haul route maps.
- Evaluate mill, contractor, and carrier safety and training procedures as well as permit program compliance.Please

**Qualifications**:
Minimum recruitment standards outline the minimum education and experience required for appointment to a job classification. Refer to
Two-year diploma in a related field plus three years progressively responsible related experience; or equivalent as described.
Equivalency: Directly related education or experience considered on the basis of:
- 1 year of education for 1 year of experience; or
- 1 year of experience for 1 year of education
**Assets**:
- Working knowledge of the Traffic Safety Act and its regulations, Vehicle Equipment, Commercial Vehicle Dimension and Weight Regulation, Operator Licensing and Vehicle Control, Vehicle Inspection.
- Working knowledge of the commercial carrier industry and commonly used vehicle configurations/Working knowledge of the log haul industry and log haul configurations.
- Working knowledge of computer software and computer hardware including Photoshop and Microsoft Suite programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint, and the Internet.
- Working knowledge of databases such as MOVES, MOTRIS, TRAVIS, and TSIS, eFacility, and CORES.
- Knowledge of commercial vehicle permit process, oversize/overweight corridor, escort vehicles and safety conditions.

This position is a permanent, full-time role with the standard weekly work hours of 36.25, Monday to Friday (8:15 am - 4:30 pm).
