**Job Details**:
This position is a developmental role providing the training and opportunity to transition into an entry level sales agronomist position over a 1-2 year period.

The purpose of this position is to gain the necessary knowledge and experience to understand key components of the business.

This role would suit a recent graduate in Agriculture, Agronomy, Plant Sciences or Horticulture

**Key Duties**:

- Responsible for contributing to customer profitability as well as overall business profitability by providing accurate and label directed agronomic information
- Completing detailed crop plans with customers
- Interpreting soil and tissue analysis results with customers
- Scouting fields to assist customers with weed, insect and disease control options in both horticulture and row crops.
- Provide inspection reports and scout findings to our Crop Advisors and provide any additional feedback or information to the customer
- Learn and operate agricultural mapping and scouting software.
- Collect plant samples for laboratory submission when necessary.
- Assist Sales Agronomists on scouting, mapping, VR and soil sampling initiatives
- Operate within a defined territory to develop and maintain customer relationships and become a reputable resource for crop production information and technology
- Effectively collaborate with a team of other Sales Agronomists to maximize services, information and sales to growers who want extensive technical/agronomic expertise
- Develop and maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of brand products and services
- Speak to company practices as it relates to current/future products, pricing and other company initiatives with dealers, growers and members of the community
- Provide agronomic support and advice to growers and prospects
- Assist with the retail location operations team as time allows and as necessary

**Requirements**:

- Relevant post-secondary education
- Experience with vegetables, fruit, tobacco or row crops would be a desired asset
- A good ability to relate to people and promote products
- Ability to work independently or as a team
- Willingness to travel and work in a rural environment
- A valid driver’s license
- The Certified Crop Advisor designation is an asset
- Technical Aptitude
- Willingness to learn
- Comfortable with technology
