**Position Description**:
The HSE & HU Advisor performs a full range of support and services, supporting the planning, implementation and management of Human Performance activities of the company, and bolstering a culture exemplifying the company’s first core value: “Safety”. The HSE & HU Advisor is responsible for various aspects of field execution of Day & Zimmermann safety on the project/site and/or at head office.

**Responsibilities**
- Monitors, documents and reports on safety / human performance; ensures that management is kept informed of all health & safety activities and issues; reports safety infractions to management and senior management as required.
- Implements company-wide human performance program, and related programs, policies, procedures, audits, self-assessments, investigations, metrics, root cause analysis, and reporting.
- Helps to establish Human Performance goals and objectives for the company; tracks and trends relevant HSE and HU statistics; develops “Leading” and “Lagging” performance metrics to effectively assess EMC HSE and HU performance, and implement required reports to track company performance
- Conduct incident and accident investigations to ascertain cause and need for corrective action to prevent their recurrence and provides written reports; works cooperatively with Labour Relations/Human Resources
- Develops practices to reduce and/or eliminate human performance errors thus reducing the adverse safety events and the cost of non-quality
- Perform walkdowns and provides input and review of Job Safety Analysis (JSA)

**Job Qualifications**
- Post-secondary Degree or Diploma in HSE, Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or Technical Trade certificate
- 3-5+ years of demonstrated experience in an HSE role
- in the nuclear sector preferred.
- Active CRSP or NCSO designation or working towards the designation is an asset.
- Knowledge of ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001 an asset.
- Strong interpersonal skills; able to interact positively with all levels inside and outside the organization
- Proficiency with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook skills
- Proactive and excellent problem solver
- Strong organizational, analytical, and time management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
