The Assistant Maintenance Manager will play a critical role in supporting the Maintenance Manager in ensuring the upkeep of Copper Point Resort (181 rooms) and Invermere Inn & Suites (47 rooms), helping to maintain safe, efficient, and well-maintained facilities for our guests.

**JOB SUMMARY**:
**JOB RESPONSIBILITIES**:
**1. Maintenance Support & Operations**:

- Assist in overseeing routine maintenance across hotel rooms, lobbies, public spaces, pools, and grounds.
- Regularly inspect the property to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
- Help implement a preventative maintenance program for guest rooms, public areas, pools, and mechanical equipment.
- Work alongside the Maintenance Manager in planning and overseeing renovations, repairs, and ongoing maintenance projects.
- Ensure snow removal, landscaping, and exterior cleaning tasks are completed efficiently.
- Respond quickly to emergency issues and train staff to do the same.

**2. Leadership & Team Development**:

- Lead, train, and mentor junior maintenance staff, ensuring they follow safety protocols and are skilled in their responsibilities.
- Assist with staff scheduling and ensure all shifts are covered effectively.
- Foster a team-oriented environment, supporting staff in delivering excellent service.
- Provide input on employee performance evaluations and help resolve team-related challenges.

**3. Safety & Compliance**:

- Help maintain safe operations of pools, HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and other systems.
- Ensure that the facility adheres to local, provincial, and federal safety codes and regulations.
- Support safety audits and follow through on corrective actions as needed.
- Assist in maintaining safety protocols and ensure the maintenance team follows health and safety guidelines at all times.

**4. Communication & Collaboration**:

- Work closely with the Maintenance Manager to prioritize and complete work orders on time.
- Maintain effective communication with other departments, ensuring smooth operations and timely resolution of guest issues.
- Coordinate with the housekeeping team to ensure Out of Order (OOO) rooms are promptly released once maintenance is completed.

**5. Inventory & Cost Control**:

- Assist in managing inventory for parts and supplies to ensure critical items are always on hand.
- Help monitor and control maintenance costs, finding ways to reduce expenses through energy conservation and efficient operations.
- Contribute to long-term capital project planning by providing input on facility needs and potential improvements.

**Qualifications**:

- 3-5 years of experience in hotel maintenance or a similar role.
- Knowledge of pumps, motors, HVAC systems, plumbing, and other essential systems.
- In-depth understanding of health and safety codes, regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Ability to read blueprints and work with building control systems.
- Familiarity with commercial pools, kitchens, and landscaping is a plus.
- Proficient in CMMS, Office software, and building automation systems.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with an ability to identify and address maintenance issues quickly.
- Excellent organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to handle multiple priorities.
