**Job Description**:
IFS is leading the way in Enterprise Asset Management (EAM) by offering a flexible, composable, cloud-native solution designed to handle the complex asset demands of the energy & utilities, construction & engineering, manufacturing, services, Aerospace and Défense (A&D) industries.
As Vice President, Research & Development (R&D) in our Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Division, you will report into the Senior Vice President, R&D, Asset Applications and you are responsible for:
- Directing an MRO R&D group, providing technical vision and business strategy
- Managing and developing a global matrixed team to execute on R&D milestones
- Driving and contributing to the management, development and sustainment of our products, in coordination with IFS R&D overall strategy
- Guiding product management and product development from understanding the market need, to ideation, development, delivery, and support with a view to expanding our Assets product portfolio, and driving market growth
You are ultimately accountable for the results of your team within 3 areas:
**People Management**
You recruit, build, manage, direct and coach your team to high performance. You strive to be the best possible leader by encouraging ongoing mutual feedback, appraising your direct reports and working with your Employee Engagement Survey scores to continuously improve your leadership strengths and team results. You ensure that each team member has achievable but stretching goals to allow for personal growth and career development. Should there be poor performance or behavior, you make sure it is addressed for the good of both the individual and the team. You live our R&D culture code and work hard to ensure that your team does as well. You engage in succession planning to minimize risk for your team and R&D. You know your high performers and key contributors and continuously work to ensure they are developed and retained - even if that means them pursuing opportunities outside your team or unit.
**Strategy**
You have an excellent appreciation of the wider IFS and R&D strategy and are able to communicate around that at all times. Based on that, you formulate a strategy for your team and a strategic plan that enables you and your team to execute accordingly. You maintain awareness of the external competitive landscape, customers, markets and new industry development and standards and use that to ongoingly update your strategic plan. You engage with customers where relevant and adopt modern technology to meet business goals and solve customer pain points. You demonstrate thought leadership and express ideas and opinions within your field or area of expertise utilizing your internal and external network, social media or other means to increase your authority and influence. You are passionate about IFS as a company and your field of expertise and evangelize internally and externally imparting success stories and experiences with the organization and field.
**Execution**
You ensure your leadership team and wider team are focused on execution towards your strategic plan and support them to overcome any obstacles. You ensure your goals are met relative to time, scope and quality and make sure to ongoingly communicate progress, challenges and results within and outside your team. You engage in budget discussions and plan your headcount in order to resource the established strategy and prioritize your efforts ongoingly and according to the business’ cycle and needs.
