**Job Summary**

We are looking for an experienced **Heavy Machine Operator** with expertise in operating excavators to join our team. The role primarily involves **bulldozing** and **excavation** work for land development projects, with additional opportunities to operate **mulchers, skid steers, tractors and heavy-duty trucks**—experience with these machines is a plus.

**Key ResponsibilitiesExcavator Operation**
- Operate **excavators** to perform site preparation, grading, trenching, and earthmoving.
- Operate **bulldozers** for land grading and leveling.
- Execute land clearing, foundation digging, and slope stabilization tasks.
- Maintain equipment by performing daily inspections and minor repairs to ensure optimal performance.

**Additional Heavy Equipment Operation (Preferred Skills)**
- Use **mulchers** for land clearing and vegetation management.
- Handle **skid steers** for material handling and site preparation.
- Drive **heavy-duty trucks** for transporting equipment and materials (if licensed).

**Site Management and Safety Compliance**
- Work closely with site supervisors and project managers to execute tasks efficiently.
- Follow all safety protocols and regulations to ensure a secure work environment.
- Conduct routine equipment checks and report maintenance needs promptly.

**General Support**
- Assist with land development tasks, including clearing, roadwork, and drainage projects.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure smooth project execution.

**Qualifications and Requirements**
- **Proven experience operating excavators** (minimum 1 years).
- Experience with **bulldozers, mulchers, skid steers, and heavy-duty trucks** (Class 1 or Class 3 driver’s license) is a bonus.
- Ability to perform minor maintenance and troubleshooting on heavy equipment.
- Strong understanding of safety regulations and best practices in machine operation.
- Valid heavy equipment operator certification or equivalent experience.
- Must be able to commute to Denman Island, **preferably living locally**.
- Physically fit and capable of handling demanding outdoor work conditions.
