The Manager, Portfolio Governance will have a proven track record in managing an Operations portfolio including, but not limited to: i. prioritization of initiatives, ii. resourcing, iii. status reporting, iv. annual planning cycle, v. ensuring adherence to corporate gating requirements. This is a critical role that will interact with senior stakeholders through the organization requiring stakeholder management, business acumen and influencing skills. You will provide recommendations that address the needs of the business and drives growth to meet strategic priorities using data and insights. You are comfortable working in ambiguous environments, while being able to see the bigger picture and identify dependencies, risks or opportunities across initiatives at any given time.
**What you will do**:
- Collaborate with leadership to prioritize initiatives based on strategic importance, resource availability and business impact
- Harnessing data, develop and maintain detailed portfolio reporting and analytics to provide insights, strategic alignment and informed decision-making to leadership team
- Foster a culture of agility and innovation while leading Canada Operations through the annual planning cycle in conjunction with finance, technology and key stakeholders
- Ensure adherence to corporate project gating methodology and governance frameworks as well as promoting standardization across projects and programs relating to documentation, process, reporting and tracking
- Create and deliver stakeholder communications for ongoing priorities, including status updates, roadmaps, dependencies, pressure points and key decisions requiring alignment
- Partner with key stakeholders to develop financial budget, track actual spend and maintain portfolio forecast
- Build collaborative partnerships using credibility and trusted advice; acting as a liaison between Canadian Operations and other business units to ensure cross-functional alignment on portfolio initiatives
- Oversee centralized portfolio and project repositories, ensuring it remains current and aligned with organizational needs
**What you will bring**:
- Bachelor’s degree in business administration, commerce, engineering, or relevant field
- 8 - 10 years’ experience in a similar role
- Experience in consulting, project management, or business transformation is preferred
- Certified Business Analysis Professional (CPAB) or Project Management Professional (PMP) designations are considered an asset
- Ability to analyze a complex problem and break it down into sub-problems
- Strong financial literacy and quantitative skills
- Think “outside the box” and create novel solutions to problems
- Ability to evaluate innovation opportunities rapidly in the context of other business priorities
- Ability to communicate complex ideas clearly and succinctly, verbally and through presentations
- Demonstrated collaboration and communication with leaders and other individuals across an organization
- Strong work ethic, self-motivated and able to work independently to identify and surmount obstacles proactively with limited supervision
- Multi-tasking and prioritization skills in a fast-paced and ambiguous environment; can work on 2-3 assignments simultaneously and need to self-organize
- A drive for innovation, fostering an environment that encourages new approaches and challenges the status quo
- A collaborative mindset to build relationships across functions and the business
The base salary for this position is between $80,700-$134,400 annually. This represents base salary only and does not represent other variable compensation components of our total compensation ( i.e. annual bonus, commission etc).
