Reporting to the Development Manager, the Development Specialist plays a key role in executing and supporting fundraising initiatives for the GTHS. This role is responsible for managing the PAW Monthly Donor Program, the 50/50 lottery, and planned giving efforts. The Development Specialist collaborates with the Development Manager to implement strategies that enhance donor engagement and drive revenue growth. Additionally, this role oversees the coordination and execution of all signature fundraising events along with third-party event coordination and stewardship.

**POSITION SCHEDULE**:Permanent, full-time (40 Hours weekly), hybrid work environment requiring the ability to work from home as well as on-site at GTHS office locations, and regular in-person meetings in the community. Occasional off-site, evenings, weekends, and after-hours work will be required. Regular travel within the South Georgian Bay area is required.

**ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Fundraising Program Management_
- Manage and execute the PAW Monthly Donor Program, which includes forming partnerships, planning, promotion, execution, and reporting.
- Oversee execution of the 50/50 lottery, which includes coordinating ticket sales, promotion, compliance, and reporting.
- Lead planned giving initiatives, which includes donor education, cultivation, and stewardship, to grow legacy contributions.
- Collaborate with the Development Manager to develop and implement strategies for each program.
- Annual (Signature) Events & Third-Party Fundraising_
- Support the Development Manager and Event Chairs to formulate work-plans for annual events. This includes creating and managing event timelines and budgets in collaboration with volunteer event chairs.
- Lead the coordination and execution of all signature events with the support of the Development Manager and Event Chairs (Volunteers).
- Key point of contact for all third-party fundraisers; responsible for tracking all confirmed events in a timely manner for leadership/BOD visibility, stewardship, and recognition.
- Donor Support and Stewardship_
- Assist with donor recognition and acknowledgment efforts, ensuring all supporters feel valued, engaged and appropriately recognized.
- Support the Development Manager in executing stewardship plans, including producing donor thank you materials and reports.
- Coordinate with the Marketing Coordinator to create promotional materials and communications for donors.
- Capital Campaign Support (Event and Fundraising)_
- Support campaign fundraising events to enhance donor cultivation and stewardship efforts.
- Assist with campaign-related activities, including outreach, donor updates, and event planning.
- Represent the GTHS at community events to increase visibility and engagement with supporters.
- Data and Reporting_
- Ensure accurate and timely data entry in the CRM system for all donor interactions and gifts.
- Track and report on key performance indicators for assigned programs, including monthly giving acquisition and retention, 50/50 lottery revenue, and mid-level donor growth.
- Provide insights and recommendations to the Development Manager to refine strategies and improve outcomes.
- Internal Communication_
- Maintain clear and consistent communication with the Development Manager and other team members to ensure alignment on donor initiatives and campaign priorities. Share donor feedback and insights to enhance strategy and engagement efforts.

**QUALIFICATIONS**
- A diploma or degree in fundraising, nonprofit management, marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 2-4 years of experience in fundraising or donor relations, with a track record of managing successful programs.
- 2-4 years of event planning experience.
- Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills, with the ability to engage and inspire donors.
- Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with attention to detail and the ability to handle multiple priorities.
- Proficiency with CRM systems (e.g., Sumac) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including experience crafting donor communications.
- Knowledge of fundraising best practices, including monthly giving and planned giving, is an asset.
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle for regular travel as required.
