Assistant Manager

**Job Summary**:
As the Assistant Manager at our Gas Station near Edmonton, Alberta, you will play a key role in supporting the overall operations of the station. Working closely with the General Manager, you will assist in managing day-to-day activities, ensuring smooth operations, and delivering outstanding customer service.
**Responsibilities**:
- Greet customers, handle inquiries, and provide assistance as needed to ensure a positive customer experience. Address customer complaints or concerns promptly and effectively.
- Assist the General Manager in supervising and leading a team of gas station attendants and cashiers. Provide guidance, support, and training to ensure team members perform their duties effectively.
- Assist in managing inventory levels, including ordering and receiving fuel and merchandise shipments. Monitor inventory levels and conduct regular stock checks to prevent shortages or overstocking.
- Oversee cash handling procedures, including cash register reconciliation, deposits, and petty cash management. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures regarding cash handling and security.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe and secure work environment for employees and customers. Conduct regular safety inspections and address any safety concerns promptly.
- Assist in implementing sales and marketing initiatives to drive revenue growth and increase customer traffic. Monitor sales performance and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Assist with administrative tasks, such as payroll processing, scheduling, and record-keeping. Maintain accurate employee records and ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
**Requirements**:
- High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education or relevant certifications preferred.
- Previous experience in a retail or customer service environment, preferably in the gas station or convenience store industry.
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with the ability to motivate and inspire team members.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and basic computer skills.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
Pay: $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 - 45 per week
