**Location**:Windsure Adventure Watersports at Jericho Beach, Vancouver BC

**Hours**: Full Time, 40hrs/week

**Compensation**:$4000/month

Established in 1977, Windsure is a family-run watersports business, located at beautiful Jericho Beach in West Point Grey, Vancouver. Today, we work to share our love of three quintessential Vancouver watersports: Windsurfing, Stand-Up Paddleboarding, and Skimboarding.

**What you’ll do**:
We are looking for an Assistant Manager to join our energetic and outdoor-loving team This position works with the General Manager to ensure that operations run smoothly. Providing leadership to the team when on site, they demonstrate excellence in service to the team and are always up to date with program, schedule, staffing, and health & safety changes. With the support of the General Manager, they are responsible for ensuring that all on-shift team members’ knowledge is up to date, and that they feel supported to do their jobs.

Some examples of the daily tasks an Assistant Manager would carry out, either independently or assisting the General Manager, include:

- Execute and supervise the coordination of equipment rental for windsurfing, stand up paddling and skimboarding gear in a safe and professional manner.
- Update and lead training for all Beach Hut Staff
- Help to develop and lead training for all Summer Camp Staff
- Scheduling team members and managing schedule change requests
- Support the needs of beach hut, lessons, camp programs and staff on water and land (supervision) through communication between these teams
- Ensure that employees are on time and prepared including being up-to-date on safety procedures and all required training
- Maintain and repair equipment and designated storage area, complete inventory tracking, and teach other team members to do so when required.
- Review and disseminate Summer Camp program curriculums
- Create and execute (when needed) a rainy-day plan for Summer Camps
- Respond to emergency situation and injuries
- Operate rescue boat (Pleasure Craft Operating Card required) as necessary to perform rescues
- Attend and contribute to weekly leadership meetings
- As necessary, assist instructing occasional lessons
- Provide feedback to instructors on teaching methods to support students’ further learning and engagement
- Help organize and coordinate the Windsure Volunteer Program, including training

- Are seeking a role to grow your leadership skills

**What we’re looking for**:

- Education and/or experience in the outdoor recreation and tourism industry
- Experience leading a team, specifically youth
- Passion for and experience teaching windsurfing, skimboarding and SUP
- Experience using cloud-based booking software
- Able to lift and carry minimum 50 lbs
- Pleasure Craft Operating Card (PCOC) or willingness to get it
- Valid First Aid Training (OFA Level 1 or Equivalent) or willingness to get it
- Valid Criminal Record Check or willingness to get one
- Able to work in Canada
