Your Opportunity:
Within Cancer Care Alberta (CCA), Supportive Care Services are provided by a team of rehabilitation and psychosocial providers dedicated to enhancing the quality of life for patients with cancer. The Psychosocial Oncology program at the Cross Cancer Institute (CCI) seeks a Team Lead (TL) to support and lead inpatient/outpatient psychosocial oncology staff. This leadership opportunity is ideal for an experienced Social Worker passionate about mentoring, collaborating, and fostering positive changes while supporting cancer care services. Reporting to Manager Supportive Care North the TL (Social Worker III) will provide daily team leadership by coordinating services across inpatient/outpatient areas at the CCI and practice support/service coordination to SW at regional cancer centres: Central Alberta Cancer Centre and Grande Prairie Cancer Centre. Responsibilities include staff support, mentoring, workload management, scheduling, referral triage, equipment oversight, & coordination of student placements. The TL will support admin, Social Workers, Spiritual Health Practitioners, Sexual Health Consultants, Drug Access Coordinators and students. As a member of the Supportive Care Leadership Team, the TL will advise on recruitment decisions and provide input on staff performance. The TL will coordinate staff orientation, professional development and actively participate in local and provincial initiatives related to patient education, guidelines, working groups, program evaluation, and quality improvement/research. In addition to leadership duties, the TL will provide patient care by offering counselling focused on adjustment to cancer, problem-solving focused counselling as it relates to social needs and psychosocial education as well as supporting complex case management. Caseloads for all Supportive Care positions may vary based on operational needs.

You will provide advanced clinical services, consultation to the interprofessional team and patients/families and supervision of students and team members as assigned. You may also act as a clinical lead providing leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of services in a specific area, as well as staff development, quality improvement and evaluation or research activities as identified by the needs of the service area(s).

**Required Qualifications**:
Master's degree in Social Work. Active or eligible for registration with the Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW).

7 years’ experience in inpatient or outpatient social work. Minimum 2 years of cancer psychosocial experience, including experience with the Patient Financial Assistance Program. A leadership role in clinical care within the last 5 years. Professional development related to cancer within the last year. Experience outcomes measurement related to program/ educational design. Experience with change management (i.e. PROSCI). Motivational Interviewing Skills.
