**Job Summary**

**Key Accountabilities**

**Compile and Assemble data**
- Collects and assembles data for stakeholders, like insurers
- Designs, practices and procedures (e.g., forms, waiver etc.,) that assist the University in complying to risk management policies
- Collects and analyzes data and key metrics to better understand the University drivers and results that may impact financial results
- Analyzes University results, key trends, and metrics for effective decision making

**Processing Transactions**
- Manages various insurance programs which require monthly reporting and transactions to add and delete insurable items
- Evaluates moderate to complex claims and incidents including general liability and property damage
- Manages claim data and analytics to inform risk control measures and insurance strategies

**Governance and Risk Assessment**
- Assists the Executive Director in conducting interviews and workshops as part of the Enterprise Risk Assessment Process
- Reviews insurance policies to verify applicable coverage. Reviews insurance schedules and investigates whether all University assets are properly insured

**Preparation of Reports/Contracts/Legal Documents**
- Reviews contracts from a risk perspective and makes recommendations for clause revision to protect the university’s interests. Drafts reports on operational risk issues and draft various low-level agreements to mitigate contractual liability

**Tech Training Instruct**
- Develops and delivers training materials on risk management topics to the university community. Conducts numerous workshops on risk management to various stakeholders at the university
- Promotes and communicates the concept of risk management to the University community by conducting workshops and/or distributing written materials

**Policy Development and Review**
- Develops risk mitigation policies and reviews the university’s risk management policy as part of the periodical review process; Reviews operational risk management policies

**Research Issues and make recommendations**
- Researches issues involving risk to the university related to activities, projects or decision, and makes recommendations as to the best possible mitigation strategies

**Job Requirements**

**Core Knowledge, Education and Experience**
- Knowledge of insurance and risk practices and processes and core technical skills
- Knowledge of finance and insurance polices and administration of policies, procedures, and processes
- Knowledge of risk assessment and relevant governing legislation
- Knowledge of office as well as the broader university academic units, departments, and divisions
- Knowledge of office productivity software and databases, internet browsers and search engines, discipline-specific software, enterprise software, and technology devices

**Education**
- Completion of bachelor’s degree in related field plus accreditation or certification or license in related field
- Certified Insurance Professional Designation and the Canadian Risk Management Certification

**Experience**
- Minimum of five year of related experience

**Job Type**: Fixed term contract
Contract length: 16 months

Pay: $83,800.00-$108,941.00 per year
