We are currently looking for a dynamic and personable **Pharmacy Assistant** to join our **Yurek Pharmacy** team in St. Thomas.
Although not required, previous experience in healthcare is preferred - former PSW/HSWs are greatly encouraged to apply.
**Job Summary**
The Dispensary Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Dispensary Manager in implementing and overseeing the training of Dispensary Assistants, students, and Registered Technicians. They are also responsible for constantly assessing, prioritizing, and delegating tasks as required throughout the day to efficiently manage workflow. They must be able to consistently offer guidance and supervision to other assistants or technicians regarding all regular day-to-day functions.
If the job is held by a Registered Technician, they must be able to perform all tasks as laid out in the Registered Pharmacy Technician job description.
They must be able to work as a team member and leader and be able to efficiently manage time and tasks in a busy work environment.
**Duties and Responsibilities include**:
- Empowered to supervise Dispensary Assistants daily and handle any performance issues that arise immediately, regarding behaviors, customer complaints, and quality and productivity concerns. All issues must be reported to the Dispensary Manager
- Assists in implementing dispensary training for staff.
- Assists both clients and other staff members as required, both within and outside the dispensary to the best of their abilities.
- Shows an exemplary level of customer service that meets Yurek standards.
- Leads by example and involves assistants and technicians in teaching them to solve their own problems as they arise.
- Champion building long-term client relationships through both personal, online and telephone interactions
- Adherence to all relevant guidelines including the established processes and procedures and all applicable regulatory requirements.
- Participate (and lead as required) in continuous improvement and corrective action activities and assist in amending, writing, and reviewing all policies and procedures within the department as required.
- Represents Yurek at promotional activities including, but not limited to, attending/presenting at events, and writing content for marketing materials, publications, and social media.
- Other duties as assigned by the Dispensary Manager, OCP Designated Manager or the supervising pharmacist.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all records as laid out in store operating policies and procedures particularly as they pertain to access, security, and retention. Also participates in the destruction of confidential and hazardous waste products.

**Education, Skills and Job Requirements**:
- High school Diploma
- Community College Accreditation as a Dispensary Assistant, Pharmacy Technician or on the job training.
- OPC Certification as a Registered Pharmacy Technician (RPh.T.) or eligible for certification by OCP an asset
