**PRODUCTION PLANNER**

The Production Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective coordination of production activities within a mid-size food manufacturing company in Ontario, Canada. Reporting to the Operations Manager or Supply Chain Manager, the Production Planner is responsible for developing and executing production plans that align with sales forecasts, inventory targets, and operational capabilities.

**Key Responsibilities**:
1. Develop and maintain detailed production schedules based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, and production capacity.

2. Coordinate with sales, marketing, and procurement teams to gather necessary information for production planning, including customer orders, raw material availability, and production lead times.

3. Monitor and analyze production performance metrics, including production efficiency, schedule adherence, and inventory levels, to identify areas for improvement and optimization.

4. Collaborate with production supervisors and managers to ensure timely execution of production schedules, resolving any issues or conflicts that may arise.

5. Work closely with procurement and inventory control teams to manage raw material and finished goods inventory levels, optimizing inventory turnover while minimizing stockouts and excess inventory.

6. Continuously review and adjust production schedules in response to changing demand, supply constraints, and operational disruptions.

7. Coordinate with maintenance and engineering teams to schedule equipment maintenance and repairs, minimizing downtime and maximizing equipment uptime.

8. Utilize production planning software and tools to streamline planning processes, improve data accuracy, and enhance decision-making capabilities.

9. Communicate production schedules, priorities, and performance metrics to relevant stakeholders, including production teams, sales teams, and senior management.

10. Support continuous improvement initiatives within the production planning function, identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve customer service levels.
