**The Role**:
We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced **Production Planner/Scheduler** who will be responsible for **coordinating and developing production schedules** on a daily or weekly basis, as well as **managing inventory levels of raw materials and packaging** to ensure we have the necessary components to meet our production targets. The incumbent will communicate and liaise with the operations and production teams, and support the continuous improvement of production planning and scheduling. **A “can do” attitude** is what is needed to be successful in this role.
The Production Planner/Scheduler reports directly to the Plant Manager. Duties will include, but are not limited to:
- Provide production manager **support in the areas** of material flow, planning/execution, and tactical production execution.
- Review production schedules and related information; confer with department supervisors to **determine material requirements and track material**.
- **Source **new products/vendors to improve service and reduce costs.
- **Coordinate shipments** of product from supplier to the bakery.
- Provide suppliers with POs for raw ingredients, packaging, consumables, and MRO items.
- Prepare and maintain various manufacturing reports.
- **Develop contingency plans** for any orders falling behind to production schedule to ensure on time delivery; communicate plans to all departments as needed.
- **Monitor process flow **to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Identify alternate scheduling opportunities that will enhance product throughput and reduce inventory and cycle time.
- Ensure that schedule, cost, and technical requirements are met.
- Collaborates with other operating departments to ensure a smooth flow of product through the manufacturing cycle and resolve open issues.
- All other duties as assigned and required by the Company.
**Qualifications**:
- Excellent working knowledge of **ERP or SAP** systems.
- 3 - 5 years experience in **food manufacturing environment**.
- Knowledge and understanding of manufacturing processes.
- **High attention to detail**, with strong organizational and time management skills.
- **Excellent communication skills**, both verbal and written, with a positive, proactive customer service mindset.
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively to resolve issues with strong influencing, diplomacy, and partnering skills to grow business relationships and guide business partners to the best solution.
- Strong technical abilities/skills; Excel, Outlook, etc.
