Our **Greater Toronto Area **or Waterloo **offices are looking to fill a **Permits License and Agreement Coordinator - PLAA **position in our growing Canadian Operations.

**Working with an energetic and high-performing team, this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in**:

- Engage with stakeholders diplomatically, often managing competing priorities.
- Develop project systems and procedures to predict PLAA and land needs.
- Track and produce metrics related to third-party technical matters such as PLAAs, approval conditions, land requirements, and traffic management.
- Use GIS software to reference geospatial data and coordinate data inputs with GIS specialists.
- Extensively use Microsoft Excel to manage large datasets.
- Review and interpret technical engineering information, plans, detail sheets, specifications, and construction documentation to meet project permitting and approval needs.
- Ensure compliance with PLAAs and regulatory requirements in workstreams.
- Facilitate communication among cross-functional teams, including designers, engineers, contractors, clients, and AHJs.
- Coordinate reporting and status updates for senior leadership and the client.
- Organize and maintain project files, records, systems, and procedures.
- Seek to improve and streamline processes and procedures related to third-party matters.
- Assist the PLAA Lead in scheduling, arranging, and coordinating meetings with the city and other external stakeholders.
- Be knowledgeable about the city's various types of permits and the processes for obtaining them.
- Provide monthly input on various reports and spreadsheets regarding PLAA progress.
- Monitor and track documents related to lands, property, and access throughout the project.
- Negotiate with prospective property owners near the project to secure a Permit to Enter for testing and technical investigations.
- Collaborate closely with the PLAA team to achieve objectives and provide support for team members as needed.
- Interdisciplinary coordination includes but is not limited to architecture, civil engineering, environmental engineering, integrated water management, traffic management, and planning teams.

**What you will bring to the team**:

- Sound knowledge of environmental approvals, construction permits, third-party permits, and overall approval processes.
- Good communication key, excellent problem-solving abilities, and attention to detail.
- Experience with municipal, provincial, and federal permitting processes.
- Knowledge of general permits and approvals required for a transit infrastructure project is considered an asset.
- Knowledge of relevant legislation, and procedures including applicable municipal acts, building codes, railway corridor infrastructure, Metrolinx Act, and related design and construction projects.
- Ability to communicate and liaise with governmental bodies.
- Prior experience with PLAA is considered an asset

**Education and Qualifications**
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in the design and construction industry.
- A bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, and urban planning.
- Interpersonal and excellent communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in high-paced environments.
- Ability to adapt to work on different projects.
- Professional designation is an asset such as EIT, P.Eng, PMP, or OAA.
