**PERSONAL SUPPORT WORKER (25-R85)**

**Bargaining Unit: UNIFOR-HRM**
**Status: Part Time**
**Department: Behavioural Supports Ontario Mobile Outreach**
**Site: Hogarth Riverview Manor**
**Shifts: Days/Evenings including weekends**
**Rate of Pay: $27.088 - $28.596 per hour**
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
**Education/Experience**:**
**Current Personal Support Worker certificate from a recognized college program**
**Extensive knowledge and experience working with individuals with various types of dementia, cognitive impairment, delirium, mental health, addictions, and/or neurological conditions and those who experience acute behavioural changes**
**Certification in Gentle Persuasive Approaches (GPA) and U-First**

**Skills/Abilities**:
**Demonstrated commitment to people-centered care**
**Proven ability to function and contribute as an effective team member and to work independently**
**Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing**
**Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships in the workplace with clients, families, and the general public**
**Strong time management skills and attention to detail**
**Flexible with the ability to manage changing priorities**
**Must be able to perform the essential duties of the job**
**Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information**
**Must be at an intermediate skill level in word processing, spreadsheet, presentation software**
**Must be competent within the meaning of the Occupational Health and Safety Act**
**Demonstrated regular attendance at work.**
***Assets**: Demonstrated familiarity with the Fixing Long-Term Care Act and regulations is an asset**
**Certification relevant to practice setting (i.e. Gerontology, Dementia) is an asset**
**The ability to converse in a second language would be an asset**
**Experience with quality improvement processes an asset**
