Parsons is now hiring an **Transportation EIT**with a desire to work on transportation design and construction projects that change the urban fabric of our communities.

We need our engineers to be versatile, enthusiastic to work in highly flexible, team-oriented environment and who have exceptional communication, analytical and organisational skills. This position is located in the Halifax office and requires in-office attendance for the first year due to a specific project requirement.

Under general supervision, you will provide technical support to engineers on moderately complex tasks and you will work within standard operating procedures and/or engineering methods.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interprets and ensures conformance to applicable standards and codes, as well as company policies and procedures.
- Perform basic geometrics design of roadway, highway, and active transportation systems.
- Works closely with Engineers and other disciplines to ensure coordinated design systems.
- Meets Transportation Engineering and Complete Street layout requirements and develops alternate design layouts of systems as required.
- Ensures compliance with required design safety factors, tolerances, and specifications.
- Works on site at project locations for contract administration and design reviews.
- Reviews supplier data and supplier/manufacturer drawings, as required.
- Checks orthographic (2D) and/or isometric (3D) drawings prepared by others.
- Performs checking procedures as appropriate to the discipline and assigned by immediate supervisor.
- Performs design and quantity calculations.
- Utilizes AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation or OpenRoads to perform various design work.

**Qualifications**:

- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (or related field) and 0-3 years of related work experience.
- Registered as Engineer-in-Training (EIT), or eligible for registration with ENS
- Experience working on HRM or NSPW projects is an asset.
- Working knowledge of Autodesk AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and other PC software packages typically associated with engineering is required.
