**Job Title**: 24 hour youth/client support worker - Central Ave Residential Services

**Job Type**: Part-Time (Guaranteed 20 hours a week) Location: 1895 Central Ave., Prince Albert, SK Reports To: Central Avenue Residential Manager

**Qualifications**:

- Have excellent people skills and work well in crises;

- Must be able to lift heavy items/preform heavy cleaning;
- Knowledge and understanding of Indigenous culture with a mindset that is accepting to reconciliation;
- Driver’s license;
- Vehicle;
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal);
- Must pass Criminal Record Check and Vulnerable Sector Check;
- Ability to work independently and follow policies and procedures;
- Excellent time management skills.

**Hours of Work**:Shiftwork - As best suits the needs of the program. Evenings, weekends & overnight shifts to be expected.

**Renumeration**:$22.62 per hour

**Objectives**: To work with the clients of the YWCA Central Avenue Shelter, providing guidance, support and life skills to empower and promote independence. To maintain a clean and secure facility and assist the residents when necessary.

**Duties**:

- Guide the residents, providing support and advocacy, as they transition into adulthood/independence;
- Must be a good role model to the youth/clients;
- Maintain building security, perform room checks/bag checks;
- Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores;
- Attend staff meetings, training & workshops as required;
- Communicate with Manager and co-workers as part of a cohesive team;
- Ensure room checks are completed on a consistent basis, report any need for repairs or replacement of furniture, blinds, etc. to maintenance team;
- Provide feedback to Manager on client issues, major events and incident reports;
- Attend to crises as they arise during non - office hours. Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis;
- Ensure policies are adhered to as per contract with MSS, CPS/YO & CSC;
- Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first;
- Work unsupervised;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Must be able to cover shifts with little to very short notice;
- Must be able to work both evenings, weekends and holidays;
- Must be able to work shift work & overnights;
- Must report any instances of Child Abuse or neglect including Physical and Sexual Abuse, Emotional Maltreatment, Neglect & Domestic Violence;
- Any other duties as requested by management.

**Probation**: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.
