**Job Title: Youth Support Worker **- **Terrance Place**

**Job Type**:Part-Time (guaranteed 20 hours per week)

**Location**:2722 6th Ave E, Prince Albert, SK

**Reports To**:Youth Homes Manager

**Responsibilities**: The youth support worker will support and empower the clientele to make positive choices that will help lead them towards self - sufficiency while ensuring contract obligations are met.

**Qualifications**:

- Must be a good role model and demonstrate and practice a healthy lifestyle;
- Must have experience working with teenage youth;
- Must be flexible and willing to learn;
- Must have First Aid and CPR-C certificate;
- Have working knowledge of Microsoft word and Excel spreadsheet;
- Applicant must maintain strict confidentiality and maintain building security;
- All applicants must have a valid Saskatchewan driver’s license;
- Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with Youth, Staff and Management;
- Ability to express ideas and concepts effectively in an oral and written form;
- Must pass YWCA Security Clearance with a successful vulnerable sector and criminal background check;
- Caring and compassionate attitude;
**Remuneration**:$22.18 per hour

**Duties**:

- Help identify career goals, barriers to employment and assist youth with such matters as job readiness skills, job search strategies, writing resumes and preparing for job interviews;
- Maintain a safe home environment;
- Prep and cook for 10 or more youth;
- Maintain an accurate daily log on day to day business;
- Plan fun and educational activities for teenage youth;
- Support and guide the residents, teaching them responsibility as they transition into adulthood/independence;
- Must be a good role model to the youth/clients;
- Maintain building security;
- Ensure nightly cleaning duties are complete;
- Ensure major housecleaning duties are complete as well as normal everyday cleaning/chores;
- Attend staff meetings;
- Provide support and advocacy to the residents and clients of the YWCA;
- Provide feedback to Manager regarding clients;
- Provide feedback to the Manager on major issues and incident reports;
- Some administrative duties;
- Attend to crises as they arise during non-office hours. Contact the Manager in the event of a major crisis;
- Prioritize work, attending to the most urgent needs of the clientele first;
- Work unsupervised;
- Maintain confidentiality;
- Any other duties as requested;
**Probation**: All YWCA Prince Albert positions contain a three-month probation period.

**YWCA Hourly Wage Scale**

Perm. Hourly

Starting - $22.18 1yr - $22.70 2yr - $23.23 2.5yr - $3yr - $23.76 4yr - $24.29 5yr - $24.82

Casuals - $22.18 (frozen)

Expected hours: No less than 20 per week
