Recycling Transfer Station Labourer

**KEY EXPECTATIONS**:

- Provide customer service at the Scales for customers entering and exiting the facility
- Provide information clearly and/or assistance regarding rules, regulations and operating procedures to customers using the facility.
- Direct customers in a personable and friendly manner to appropriate areas
- Use various computer systems, including Point of Sale (POS) systems (occasionally)
- Take delivery of materials and waste from suppliers
- Outside labouring, (requiring CSA approved safety footwear, hardhat and high visibility outer
- Perform work in accordance with company safety procedures.
- Remove debris and trash on site using wheelbarrows.
- Load and move dirt, rock, equipment and materials.
- Maximize recycled materials and minimize waste sent to the landfill by sorting and separating items on the sort pad as directed.
- Organize recycled materials from work sites.
- Actively and consistently ensure site is clean by loading and unloading materials and removing hazards.
- Occasional use of skid steer and excavator
- Be self motivated with the ability to work independently as part of a team.
- Assist in physical labour on site.
- All other related duties as assigned.

**QUALIFICATIONS & ABILITIES**:

- Proven ability to work safely and promote a safe working environment, adhering to company policies and procedures.
- Valid British Columbia Class 5 Drivers license (preferred)
- Point of Sale (POS) system or Scale experience is an asset.
- Previous customer service experience is an asset.
- Ability to work independently with mínimal supervision.
- Skid Steer experience is an asset.
- Excavator experience is an asset.
- Ability to work outside in all weather.
- Push, pull, lift up to 23kg (50lbs)
- Ability to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Ability to stand, walk on varied terrain.
- Ability to kneel, bend, stretch.
- Weekend availability preferred.

**Salary**: $19.00-$22.00 per hour
