Recycling Supervisor

General Job Definition:
- The overall supervision and management of Milner Recycling facility to ensure efficiency and operational guidance for employees and customers. Weekends are mandatory - schedule is Thursday to Monday.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Provide direct supervision to all labourers, attendants and operators
- Assign and organize duties ensuring efficiency
- Lead by example; promoting company values and ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures
- Ensure a healthy and safe working environment for all workers, and reporting any issues immediately
- Ensure Scale House is equipped with all necessary supplies and ready for the day
- Work at the sort-pad alongside labourers to ensure productivity
- Ensure customer compliance when disposing and entering items into sort-pad bins
- Ensure tickets and tipping fees are being entered and communicated correctly
- Troubleshoot any staffing issues and report to Human Resources if necessary
- Troubleshoot any computer issues
- Train new employees and complete all probationary review documents
- Complete all semi-annual review documents with employees and submit to Human Resources
- Communicate all staffing needs
- Participate in absence management program
- Communicate all policies, notices and company updates to employees
- Oversee and manage fence rentals
- Supervise the upkeep of bins, while ensuring a safe and clean working environment for guests and employees
- Other tasks as required
Minimum Qualifications:
- Able to lift 50lbs or more
- Minimum Class 5 Driver's License
- Previous supervisory experience of more than 5 employees (1 year minimum)
- Clear Drivers Abstract & Criminal Record check (we provide)
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Self-motivated
- Ability to competently operate Skid Steer, Loader, Excavator
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, written and oral
- Well organized and ability to be flexible and prioritize demands
- Effective multi-tasker
- Able to lift over 50 lbs
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Basic computer and cell phone skills
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $30.00-$32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
