**Employment Opportunity**:Fund Development Coordinator (Full time, Permanent)**

The Avalon Sexual Assault Centre is seeking an experienced Fund Development Coordinator to assist in expanding our fund development activities and cultivate new donor/funder prospects in collaboration with management and staff.

The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for successfully assisting Avalon in maintaining and expanding fund development activities and to coordinate cultivation of new donor/funder prospects in collaboration with management and staff.

**Responsibilities**
- Oversee, evolve, and facilitate a comprehensive fundraising plan.
- Liaise with existing donors and cultivate new ones.
- Manage existing annual campaigns.
- Develop and launch new campaigns as needed.
- Develop and implement a strategic major gifts program focused on cultivating, soliciting and stewarding individual donors for major gifts and corporate partners
- Seek corporate and foundation funding for Avalon as an entire entity, rather than project-specific
- Work to develop a long-term strategy and timeline as well as assist with establishing fundraising financial goals for each fiscal year and beyond.
- Research public and private grant agencies and foundations to identify potential sources of funding.
- Manage existing grants by: tracking, developing internal reporting systems, coordinating the submission of reports, working with program staff to ensure each project/program is meeting proposal conditions and expectations
- Work with staff to accurately record, track, acknowledge and receipt donations in a timely manner
- Coordinate cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship of existing donors through targeted outreach and communications.
- Plan, create and distribute direct mail appeals.
- Manage Avalon's online fundraising.
- Liaise with individuals and organizations interested in hosting third-party fundraising activities in support of Avalon.
- Manage the recognition of supports as laid out in Avalon's stewardship plans and as pledged to donors.
- Monitor local external markets to identify new partnership opportunities.
- Participate in budget processes together with the Executive Director and key staff.
- Work within the Mission, Vision and goals of the Avalon Sexual Assault Centre.
- Leverage our online presence, newsletter, and social media to engage with the community.
- Administer Avalon's volunteer program.
- Perform other duties as required.

**Qualifications**
- University degree in commerce/business, marketing, communications/public relations or other related field
- Minimum 2-3 years of progressive fund development experience with a successful record of generating revenue growth, implementing fundraising initiatives, and working with major gifts or other related experience.
- Excellent management, communication, organization, planning, and other problem-solving skills
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of sexualized violence and sexual assault trauma an asset
- Knowledge of feminist and trauma-informed practice, as well as cross-sectional oppression as related to racism, homophobia/transphobia, ageism, classism and poverty etc. an asset
- Experience incorporating perspectives of multiple communities, including survivors and equity-seeking communities an asset
- CFRE designation an asset
- Member in good standing with AFP and/or CAGP an asset

**Working Conditions**
- ** Hours**: 35 hours/week (Monday to Friday, 8:30am to 4:30 pm OR 9:00am to 5:00pm, with 1-hour unpaid lunch break) with occasional evening and/or weekend work
- ** Location**: Office setting with work-from-home options available in consultation with management. Some travel
