Consulting Analyst

**This is an 18-month contract position with possibility for extension based on business needs.**

**About the role**:
Reporting to the Senior Director, Client Insights, the Consulting Analyst provides support to our fundraising consulting practice by analyzing vast amounts of data, making sense of it, and providing a framework supported by analytical models and tools to deliver truly amazing insights for our clients. Our Consulting Analysts are our storytellers who love all things data and have the unique ability to support the client consulting practice by putting the meat on the directional bones presented by our consultants.

**What you’ll do in the role**:
**Discovery**:

- With direction from the consultant lead, develop discussion guides and schedule and participate in client meetings
- Review artefacts provided by the client, summarizing facts on client practices
- Track action items as they arise and follow up to ensure completeness

**Insights**:

- Analyze client fundraising acquisition and cultivation campaigns, distilling analysis into insights to provide input for recommendations
- Develop insights from Health of File analysis and quantify opportunities on revenue potential and Return on Investment
- Update quarterly KPIs in preparation for internal and client discussions; investigate the underlying causes of significant variances
- Provide data inputs for client financial models
- Conduct other data file investigations including donor segmentation, prospect, upgrade, churn, and lifetime value analysis
- Peer review other team members’ analyses to ensure insights are complete, accurate, and formatted correctly
- Prepare findings and present in internal reviews

**Documentation**
- With direction from the lead consultant, provide input into consulting reports by consolidating data analysis, discovery, benchmarks, and other supporting information
- Develop benchmarks collected across Health of File projects
- Enhance the presentation of concepts and data insights using visualization methods and tools

**Data Solutions**
- Support QA efforts by validating data, ensuring it is accurate and correct

**You bring to the role:
- 2 years’ experience working in a similar business intelligence, data, or business analytics role
- Post-secondary degree/diploma in statistics, math, or data analysis is preferred; education and/or relevant experience will be considered
- Advanced skill using Excel with the ability to create complex formulas and pivot tables to analyze data
- Proficient with PowerPoint and other data visualization tools to develop reports and create impactful presentations; experience using Business Intelligence tools like Tableau or PowerBI is preferred
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify patterns, create efficiencies using the tools and information, and deliver insightful stories to make informed decisions
- Skilled at translating primary and secondary research into meaningful input for project materials
- Strong communication skills to work effectively with a variety of stakeholders
- Excellent organizational skills with a proven track record of meeting deadlines and managing competing priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
- Ability to take initiative and work independently to complete tasks, solve problems, and learn new concepts to produce the most impactful results for clients
