Tiny Explorers Academy is actively recruiting for a Full-Time (40 hours/week) Supervisor,
RECE (12-Month Contract) who is passionate, attentive, caring, creative, and excited about learning in the early years

**About Tiny Explorers Academy**:
Tiny Explorers Academy is a growing childcare company that originated in 2015. Most recently, the company expanded into the neighborhood of Roncesvalles with their second location opening in September of 2021.

Our Beltline location is situated right on the Beltline trail, where children and staff can develop a healthy appreciation for Mother Nature. We also offer convenient parking and/or access to the Davisville subway station.

Our Roncesvalles location is nestled between High Park, Lake Ontario, Dundas Street West, and the West Toronto Railpath. Our learning facility, including its spacious rooftop playground, was architecturally mastered by one of Toronto’s best-known designers, an homage to the original owner of these lands, John Howard, Toronto’s first surveyor and one of Canada’s greatest architects.

As an RECE Supervisor, you will oversee the planning and directing the program of the center while also maintaining the day-to-day operations, being responsible for the overall well-being of the children, and overseeing/directing staff members in compliance with the Child Care and Early Years Act (“CCEYA”).

The Supervisor is responsible for providing leadership and stability in the development and direct delivery of the program, as well as being energetic, dedicated, and an enthusiastic RECE professional able to exercise sensitivity and maturity in dealing with both children and adults.

**Job Requirements**:

- A degree or diploma in Early Childhood Education from a recognized college or university
- A degree, diploma, or post-graduate certificate in Early Childhood Management an asset
- An active member of the College of ECE’s in good standing
- At least 2 years experience as an Early Childhood Educator
- Experience working with children with various needs an asset
- A valid Vulnerable Sectors Check
- Valid Standard First Aid & CPR (Level C) or ability to obtain within the first (3) three months of employment
- Extensive knowledge of the Child Care and Early Years Act
- Extensive knowledge of the College of Early Childhood Educator’s Code of Ethics and Standards of Practice
- Extensive knowledge of Ontario’s pedagogy “How Does Learning Happen” and “ELECT”
- Extensive knowledge of Toronto Public Health requirements when working in a childcare setting
- A clear understanding of the Montessori and Reggio Emilia philosophies
- Strong communication skills including active listening and reading comprehension
- Critical thinking, monitoring, and observing
- Time management and leadership skills

**Description of Specific Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Ensuring the day-to-day operations are conducted to Ministry of Education standards as per the Child Care Centre Licensing Manual
- Hiring, terminating, and overseeing staff, students, and volunteers
- Actively participating in the training and development of staff
- Ensuring that Tiny Explorers Academy’s Policies and Procedures are adhered to
- Leading staff meetings in a manner that reflects a thoughtful, committed ideology, and best practices for children
- Monitoring and updating webcam registration, HiMama enrollment and reporting, and Waitlist Form
- Overseeing and managing cleaning service and kitchen operations
- Staff scheduling and payroll reporting
- Managing all staff and children’s files
- Complying with all daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, semi-annual, and annual licensing requirements

**Mental and Physical Demands**:

- May be required to lift up to 50lbs
- Required to move from sitting to standing often, including floor to standing
- Required to be aware and attentive in a fast-paced environment where children’s safety is priority
- Required to exercise a high level of patience

**Special Conditions**:

- Ministry of Education approval for supervisory role
- Registered and in good standing with College of Early Childhood Educators
- Vulnerable Sector Check
