_**Daycare Director - Job Description**_

The Daycare Director will manage our day-to-day operations and establish and sustain a positive learning environment for children. The director will oversee the coordination of education programs that comply with local and federal regulations, ensure that facilities are maintained, managed, and supported by a complement of daycare staff, and manage the centre's financial affairs.

The director will have demonstrable experience in managing all aspects of a daycare center and a nursery school, as well as strong leadership skills. The director should display a friendly demeanor, have a love for children, and strive to create a supportive and encouraging environment for both children and teachers.
- **Responsibilities and Duties**_

1. Ensure a safe, happy, and stimulating environment for children.

2. Manage and coordinate curricula with staff that comply with provincial and federal requirements.

3. Ensure that center facilities are safe for children and comply with laws and regulations.

4. Evaluate and purchase materials, equipment, and supplies.

5. Manage and support teaching staff and promote their professional development.

6. Interview, hire, and train new staff members, ensuring they meet all policies and legal requirements (in collaboration with the board of directors).

7. Developing and implementing a curriculum that reflects some of the founding principles of the Emergent Curriculum, Play-Based Curriculum, including Islamic teachings and Arabic Language (in collaboration with the board of directors).

8. Complete ongoing training and courses to remain up to date on daycare standards and procedures.

9. Communicate and meet with parents regarding their children and the center’s policies.

10. Work with outside organizations to support families.

11. The director manages and oversees the budget and ensures that the center remains in good financial condition (in collaboration with the board of directors).

13. Develop and facilitate a marketing and communications plan.

14. Supervise children and provide fun and educational activities and play experiences. It is expected that the director spends some time daily on the floor working with the children.

**Education and Experience**
- A Manitoba Early Childhood Educator Certificate (CEC III) is required.
- Current Investigation Authorization including Police Records Check with Vulnerable Person’s Search and Child Abuse Registry Check.
- Current First Aid and CPR.
- Bachelor's degree in a related field is an asset.
- Knowledge and previous supervisory experience are a definite asset.
- Knowledgeable in child development theories and practices.
- Competent in the Emergent Curriculum and Invitations-to-Play.
- Ability to provide safe and appropriate activities for children to enhance play and learning.
- Familiarity with relevant regulations, legislation, policies, and procedures to ensure that children are always supervised and safe.
- Knowledgeable in human resources management.
- Skilled in program development, implementation, and evaluation.
- Experience with emergency procedures.

**Working hours**:
Weekdays_: _ 07:30 AM - 05:30 PM.
