The Alumni and Development team at UVic connects alumni and community to UVic’s vision as outlined in the university’s 2023 strategic plan: Distinctly UVic. Reporting to the Director of Faculty Development, the Associate Director, Faculty Development is responsible for leading a group of faculty and/or unit advancement programs. The Associate Director is a senior member of the Faculty Development team working with several smaller-scale units on the planning, implementation, integration, management and evaluation of their faculty/unit-based fundraising programs. The Associate Director may act on behalf of the Director of Faculty Development in their absence and may lead team meetings and discussions across Alumni and Development. This role will be required to work independently and demonstrate a high level of initiative while being in a dynamic team environment where flexibility and multi-tasking is essential. **About Alumni and Development**: Alumni Relations and Development is the division of the university responsible for creating strong relationships and building philanthropic commitment between the University of Victoria and its alumni, friends and community members with the goal of increasing personal involvement and commitment to the philanthropic support of the university’s academic mission and priorities. Development provides fundraising expertise and assistance and coordinates and integrates fundraising initiatives for the university community in order to achieve optimal long-term results with donors. **About the position**: Working in collaboration with Deans/unit heads, the Associate Director, Faculty Development is responsible for leading a small team of faculty/academic unit frontline fundraisers working in distinctly different, complex, and diverse cultures to create and implement the strategic direction of the faculty/unit fundraising programs. In alignment with the Director, Faculty Development, the Associate Director provides strategic direction and oversees the day-to-day operations of their team towards their annual fundraising goals, set in conjunction with the Deans/unit heads.
