**Do you have what it takes?**

**_THIS ROLE COULD BE BASED OUT OF EITHER CONCORD OR GRIMSBY_**

**Core Duties**:

- Completes detailed take-off of reinforcing steel for a variety of projects by the tender deadline
- Reviews scope of work, specifications, and addendums for respective projects to ensure accurate breakdown of material as required
- Liaise, consult and communicate with sales department, engineers, architects, owners and contractors in order to obtain all the pertinent information for accurate estimates
- Reviews and makes changes to estimates as per post-tender addendums
- Submit all related documentation to the Sales Department prior to bid closure
- Use aSa estimating software for rebar take-off, and Bluebeam Revu software for on-screen viewing and takeoff
- Be aware of regional bidding practices, with regards to standard inclusions and exclusions

- Ability to read structural and architectural drawings for all concrete structure categories
- Ability to visualize structural elements
- Ability to articulate terms, conditions and intent of tender documents and drawings
- Attention to Detail
- Excellent math skills
- Critical thinking and ability to use independent judgment
- Good computer skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Well organized, with strong prioritizing/planning skills
- Ability to work both individually and in a team environment
- Ability to multi-task and in a fast-paced environment

**Education**:

- Post-secondary education in Civil/Structural/Construction/Architectural Technician Program

**Experience**:

- Civil engineering background with specialization in reinforced concrete structures
- Related experience as reinforcing steel estimator, detailer or reinforcing steel placer considered as an asset; the position requires the right academic background
