Work Hours: Monday to Friday between 6:30am to 4:00pm

Compensation: $17.34

The Opportunity

The Sales Associate position is responsible for full cycle customer service to clients at BCIT Student Association’s retail outlets. This includes making specialty drinks and preparing food items, processing transactions, stocking, and cleaning, and opening and closing duties. This position incorporates BCITSA’s equity, diversity, and inclusion values into their work and professional relationships.

What You Will Do:

- Greet and acknowledge all customers, offer assistance and be responsive to customer inquiries Respond to and address customer complaints and requests with support from manager
- Actively promote products and specials to customers including specialty drinks, and the Savour app
- Perform related administrative duties such as answering phone calls
- Create drinks according to recipe and customer preferences
- Maintain and manage stock within the stores and write off stale and outdated merchandise
- Ensure store appearance is as per BCITSA standards
- Follow all procedures as identified in training manuals and store guidelines including daily cleaning procedures, food preparation and display and specialty drink preparation
- Clean all work areas thoroughly, with special attention to contact surfaces and equipment
- Conduct regular bussing within the store as needed and as directed by manager

This position is required to have
- Grade 10 or equivalent
- Requires shift work
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 11kg (25lbs), bend, crouch, climb, and walk and stand for long periods; pull a cart with some supplies, recycled cardboard etc.
- Must be able to perform cleaning duties, such as mopping and sweeping floors, cleaning dishes, counters and equipment, i.e. coffee pots.
- This position is required to perform repetitive movements
