Maintenance Supervisor

**Job Purpose**:
Reporting to the Manufacturing Engineering Manager, the Maintenance Supervisor will oversee the Maintenance scope of activities in the manufacturing plant, including facility and maintenance performance and continuous improvement projects. This is an on-site position (not remote).
**Job Duties and Responsibilities**:
- With the engineering manager, participate in objective setting, plan development and performance review of facility / maintenance performance to meet or exceed annual business improvement targets.
- Plan, prioritize and budget maintenance and continuous improvement projects for the plant. Initiate and carry out projects that improve efficiency and/or reduce operating costs.
- Reviews the operation of plant equipment and systems, to minimize unplanned downtime, anticipate and solve problems, and to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Develop relationships with equipment and supply vendors to improve customer service and response time.
- With engineering and production, determine optimum plant layout and process flow to achieve optimal output.
- Prepare the department budget and ensure all facility work requirements are completed within budget.
- Maintain and manage the design, modification, vendor-selection, purchase and installation of new or upgraded equipment or plant facilities.
- Using eMaint and the Dana accountability board, establish priorities to achieve KPI’s and operational goals.
- Initiate, implement, and manage the plant maintenance program based on best practices and compliance requirements with an emphasis on planning/scheduling and preventive/predictive maintenance.
**Qualifications required**:
- A Degree in engineering / technology (Building Systems, Manufacturing, Mechanical, Automation) and/ or trade certification (Ontario journeyperson).
- A certification in Maintenance Management Professional (MMP) is highly desired.
- A minimum of 5 years experience with responsibility for Maintenance and Automation direct reports,including purchasing, automated work order systems, and industrial construction.
- Demonstrated working knowledge of manufacturing systems, lean manufacturing, preventative maintenance, health & safety, stamping and robotics.
- Strong organizational skills with the demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and deadlines.
- Strong computer skills including intermediate Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint skills. SAP and eMaint experience is an asset.
- Effective interpersonal and communication skills, with demonstrated motivation and performance management skills while working in a team environment. Communicate with internal stakeholders, external contractors and vendors, and employees.
- Ability to influence, escalate issues, convey continuous improvement ideas, and positively manage conflict.
- Ability to work off shift, weekends and on call at times to support facility construction and contractor work. Travel as required (5%).
- Experience in a unionized facility is an asset.
