**Scope**
Reporting to the IT Manager, the IT Service Specialist is responsible for providing a high level of IT service and support for the Company’s head office employees and I.T colleagues, coordinate the I.T. helpdesk for internal users (I.T. support) within the organization and ensure that the role is in compliance with the Company’s high standards of performance for optimal business functioning.
**Duties and Responsibilities**
- Attend and remain onsite at the Kitchener office from Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm.
- Coordinate and manage the internal help desk I.T. system by assigning issues, resolving, escalating or providing a temporary solution to all user requests
- Work with HR to onboard, provide orientation, support and offboard staff
- Assist office staff for all I.T. related issues as required
- Image, setup and install hardware/software for computers/staff
- Organize and deploy software updates for necessary upgrades related to Computer workstations, desktops and laptops
- Day to day maintenance of the Company’s local network, MS Windows Servers and workstations
- Set up, coordinate repair and maintain Office printers and/or other peripherals
- Work with current I.T. staff to support the Kitchener location
- Set up/permission new user accounts and hardware
- Ultimately responsible for keeping network clean, virus and spyware free
- Support users on use of the Cisco VPN client
- Configuration and support of mobile devices (Apple iPhone/Android)
- All other duties as assigned
**Education and Experience**
- Post-secondary education such as a diploma or degree in information systems, communications, computer science, or another related field is required
- Proven skills in support and troubleshooting
- General PC assembly and repair
- Valid drivers license required to fulfill duties on location
- Must be detail oriented and organized in order to handle multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent interpersonal, time management and communication skills
- Able to work independently and prioritize tasks/responsibilities
- Dependability to work assigned hours to ensure full coverage.
