The OTA/PTA works under the direction and supervision of a registered Occupational Therapist and Physiotherapist to engage clients /patients through therapeutic mobilization care plan and self-care activities to improve or maintain function. The OTA/PTA delivers safe and client-centered care while maintaining the practice standards of the College of Occupational Therapists of Ontario (COTO) and the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario (CPO).
**QUALIFICATIONS**:
- Graduate from a formal training program in Occupational Therapy Assistant and Physiotherapy Assistant at a Ministry of Education approved community college.
- Minimum of 6 months of experience working with functionally challenged patients preferred
- Demonstrates good communication, accountability, organization and interpersonal skills
- Time management skills
- Adaptable to handling changing workloads
- Demonstrates commitment towards learning new skills
- Demonstrates ability to function as a team member
- Good attendance record
- Physical ability to perform tasks associated with the job
