**The Opportunity**

The role involves project management in the environment sector where you will collaborate with a range of discipline specialists, including environmental (archaeology, wildlife, vegetation and aquatic, soils and contaminated lands) and infrastructure (geotechnical, hazardous materials and quality control) professionals. The Environmental Project Manager is responsible for the management of environmental tasks and coordination with the engineering design and construction management teams supporting large infrastructure projects.

You will be responsible for a diverse and exciting portfolio of projects. Applicants should be comfortable managing multiple projects (from 3 to 12 projects at any given time) at different stages of development and excel at keeping projects moving forward efficiently on schedule and within budget.

This position can be based out of our Vancouver office with the flexibility to work remotely while balancing field and office needs.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Development of proposals, work scopes, schedules and cost estimates
- Prepare and execute Project Management Plans including Work Plans, Risk Management Plans, Health and Safety Plans, Quality Plans, and Communications Plans, taking corrective actions as required to keep the project on track
- Management of budgets and schedule on complex, multidisciplinary projects
- Communication with the client throughout the lifecycle of the project, maintaining deliverable accountability, and client relationship/satisfaction
- Collaboratively coordinate with Engineering Project Managers, Construction Managers internal Discipline Leads, and sub-consultants for the timely execution of deliverables
- Provide oversight and coordination during project construction including:

- Environmental orientation and training of crews
Incident management
- Environmental auditing and assessment
- Planning, coordinating and executing tasks involving natural sciences baseline studies, environmental assessment, permitting and authorizations
- Assist in the development of monitoring studies to confirm the compliance and effectiveness of environmental mitigation and compensation measures
- Participate in government agency consultation meetings and public information sessions to establish sound working relationships with diverse stakeholder groups

Skills / Qualifications:

- Post-secondary education in Natural Sciences, Environmental Science, Environmental Planning, Environmental Policy, or a related science/engineering discipline
- 5 years direct experience in resource industry and/or infrastructure development projects with focus in environmental support and permitting capability. Preference given to those with experience in linear infrastructure projects such as, roadways, highways, pipelines, railways and power transmission lines
- Experienced in implementing and auditing environmental management plans during construction
- A proven track record of managing multiple projects at one time, completing projects on time and on budget with a high degree of client satisfaction;
- The ability to work in multidisciplinary planning and design team environment, effectively communicate environmental constraints and opportunities, and work collaboratively with clients and discipline specialists to achieve innovative and compliant environmental mitigation measures
- A leader in implementing health and safety protocols during project delivery on project sites
- Registered or eligible for professional designation (R.P.Bio., R.B.Tech.) is an asset
- Broad knowledge of biology disciplines (aquatics, vegetation, wetlands, wildlife) is an asset
- Experience with provincial and federal environmental legislation and regulatory process (BCEAA, IAA, WSA, Fisheries Act, SARA) is an asset
- A valid, unrestricted Class 5 drivers license valid for use in BC is required for this role.
