**THE ROLE - Assistant Controller**
- Be knowledgeable and able to execute all facets of the full-cycle accounting function to support the Accounting and Finance team
- Manage account reconciliations for key areas of the balance sheet, ensuring reconciliations and adjusting entries are completed in a timely manner
- Maintain capital asset schedule
- Support month and year-end closing processes, reconciliations, and reporting
- Internal financial reporting and financial statements preparation
- Variance reporting for actuals to budget and forecast
- Track and report on daily, weekly, and monthly Key Performance Indicators
- Assist with bank reporting documents
- Assist with budget preparation
- Oversee the implementation of a new ERP and continue to strive for process improvement
- Handle and triage queries from other operating departments, vendors, and customers
- Continuous improvement of accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure proper internal controls over financial reporting
- Assist with recruiting, training, coaching, and supervising Accounting and Finance team members as required
- Support with conducting performance evaluations and preparing development plans for Accounting and Finance team members as required
- Other duties as assigned

**EXPERIENCE**
- 5+ years in progressive Accounting roles
- CPA designation or interest in pursuing designation is considered an asset
- Supervisory experience is considered an asset
- Strong technical efficiency in Sage 50, QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar systems
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel

**EDUCATION**
- Post-secondary education in business, finance, or a related field

- Comfortable working in an environment that is fast-paced and demands accurate deliverables
