**WASTEWATER TREATMENT OPERATOR**: The Wastewater Treatment Operator will be responsible for the effective and efficient operation of aluminum surface treatment for highly automated paint line, wastewater treatment, and Extrusion die cleaning processes. We provide: - A starting hourly wage of $23 - $25 per hour. - A comprehensive benefits package that includes a Health Spending Account, Wellness Spending Account, Catastrophic as well as Travel Insurance coverage, and a 4% RRSP matching plan. - We provide 2 weeks of paid vacation, which increases to 3 weeks after the third year. - Monthly Lunches. - Company Swag. - Regular opportunities to be involved in charitable activities during working hours. **What You Will Do**: - Perform the aluminum surface treatment day-to-day operations. - Chemical titrations and analysis for powder coating paint line. - Prepare samples and conduct etching rate testing. - Conduct dosing and chemical replenishment and ensure proper concentration and pH levels. - Maintain up-to-date records of surface treatment tests and interpret/analyze results and ensure process parameters are being met. - Conduct additional quality tests when needed. - Conduct routine checks on surface treatment equipment, including tanks, pumps, and filtration systems. Report any issues or need for maintenance. - Perform a start-up check in the Vertical Paint line to ensure the DI System, Wastewater Treatment system, tank level, dosing pumps, and chemical solution are within required operating requirements. - Perform wastewater treatment day-to-day operations. - Effluent monitoring and ensure compliance with environmental regulations and discharge permits. - Adjust chemical dosing to neutralize or remove contaminants from wastewater. - Collect of samples and coordinate laboratory testing (pH, turbidity, and contaminant levels). - Conduct routine checks on wastewater treatment equipment, including tanks, pumps, and filter press systems. Report any issues or need for maintenance. - Maintain up-to-date records of wastewater treatment operations and comply with applicable regulatory requirements. - Ensure compliance with PPE requirements for chemical handling, disposal, and related quality and environmental requirements. - Record chemical consumption, and incoming stock amount and calculate monthly consumption. Maintain records up to date. - Keep the chemical list updated and ensure chemicals are properly labeled per WHMIS. - Ensures corresponding SDSs for chemicals are updated and available at the point of use. - Conduct analysis on die cleaning solutions, complete reports and coordinate results. - Operate and maintain laboratory equipment safely and effectively. - Conduct analysis for products with quality issues and when evaluation is required. - Assist in Receiving Paint Powder Inspection when required. - Prepare test samples for external laboratories, and suppliers, and provide required documentation. - Assist in conducting laboratory trials for new chemicals and improvement initiatives. - Monitor hook cleaning process and conduct analysis when required. - Ensure surface treatment area, wastewater treatment, and QC laboratory cleanliness and organization are maintained. **Qualifications**: - A minimum of at least 1 year in an Aluminum extrusion company with knowledge of aluminum surface treatment and wastewater treatment principles. - Experience or technical training in surface treatment or wastewater treatment operations. - Certifications in wastewater treatment are advantageous. - Knowledge of operating surface treatment and wastewater treatment equipment and familiarity with laboratory testing equipment and tools. - History in customer relations and technical support for Aluminum extrusion and chemical processes. - Ability to accurately monitor and adjust process parameters to ensure compliance with requirements. - Capable of troubleshooting and problem-solving issues with treatment equipment and processes. Reviewing related information to develop and evaluate options and implement solutions. - Proactive in implementing safety protocols related to chemical handling, surface treatment, and wastewater treatment. - Numerical and analytical ability. - Proficiency in documenting processes, preparing reports, and maintaining records. - Capability to work in environments that require standing, lifting, and working with chemicals.
