Markham, Canada Optimal Engineering Full time

Optimal Engineering is looking for a Junior Mechanical Drafter with experience in building mechanical system design including HVAC, plumbing and fire protection.

**Duties and Responsibilities include but are not limited to**:

- Prepare calculations and design for mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing & fire protection under supervision of senior designers and engineers
- Prepare drawings using AutoCAD 2D
- Coordinate with clients, other consultants, and contractors
- Perform site visit to verify existing mechanical systems
- Prepare reports and specifications
- Any associated administration as required

**Qualifications/Experience**:

- MUST have at least one year experience in residential and commercial design of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing & fire protection
- MUST be proficient in AutoCAD 2D
- Technologist, College or University Degree in a relevant field
- Ability to read and understand engineering and architectural blueprints
- Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
- Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time
- Self-motivated and organized
- Attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle on a regular basis
