**Building Manager**

Location: Bison Lodge, Edmonton, AB

**Job Type**: Full-Time

**Salary**: $20 per hour

**About Bison Lodge**:
Bison Lodge is a historic, community-based venue in Edmonton’s River Valley. We host a range of meaningful events including weddings, cultural gatherings, and nonprofit initiatives—all while preserving the charm and legacy of our natural log building. The Building Manager plays an important behind-the-scenes role, ensuring every event begins in a clean, well-prepared, and welcoming environment.

**Job Summary**:
The Building Manager is responsible for preparing the lodge before and after events by assisting with setup and takedown of furniture and décor, performing routine cleaning, and supporting the event team. This is a collaborative, hands-on role that requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a commitment to creating excellent experiences for clients. You will often work independently but remain a key part of the event support team.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Event Setup & Takedown:

- Complete skeleton setup of tables, chairs, and event layout based on floor plans. Support the Lodge Representative and event team by ensuring essential items are in place and décor or venue materials are staged appropriately. Takedown and return furniture and décor items to proper storage areas after events.
- Cleaning & Readiness:

- Perform light-to-moderate cleaning duties including vacuuming, sweeping, mopping, and surface cleaning. Ensure all guest-facing areas (washrooms, common spaces, and entryways) are clean and stocked with supplies before events. Maintain orderly storage and service areas used by event staff and vendors.
- Stock & Supply Management:

- Monitor and restock essential supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soaps, cleaning cloths, and sponges. Prepare weekly supply orders (due Wednesday), ensuring event teams have what they need for success. Launder and restock dish cloths and polishing rags; coordinate linen readiness when applicable.
- Team & Client Support:

- Work closely with Lodge Representatives and bar/event staff to ensure the space is ready on time and to standard. Take initiative to assist other team members when needed and communicate proactively about supplies or cleaning needs. Represent Bison Lodge’s commitment to hospitality, heritage, and community service, even while working behind the scenes.

**Work Schedule**:

- Wednesday - Sunday 4 am - 10 am

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in custodial work, event setup, or hospitality is an asset. Ability to lift and move tables, chairs, and supplies (up to 50 lbs). Strong communication skills and a team-first attitude. Self-motivated and able to work independently while meeting timelines. Dependable, punctual, and adaptable to changing priorities.
