Position Overview:
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare, cook, and serve breakfast, lunch, and dinner for guests and staff according to lodge standards.
- Develop and execute daily/weekly menus that accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen in compliance with food safety standards.
- Manage kitchen inventory, including ordering, receiving, and storing food supplies.
- Monitor portion control, minimize waste, and ensure cost efficiency.
- Collaborate with lodge staff to provide a positive guest experience.
- Support in hosting lodge events, special dinners, or group gatherings as needed.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Previous experience as a cook or chef, preferably in a lodge, resort, camp, or similar setting.
- Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
- Ability to work independently in a remote location with limited supervision.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Flexibility to adapt menus and work under varying guest volumes.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Valid Food Safety Certification is an asset.
Working Conditions:
- This is a seasonal, full-time position located at a remote lodge.
- Staff accommodations and meals are provided.
- Applicants must be comfortable living and working in a remote, wilderness environment for the duration of the contract.
