**Position Summary**
We are looking for a Regulatory Manager, based in our North York office reporting into the Director of Regulatory & Consumer Wellness. The Regulatory Manager will drive regulatory excellence for the business categories under their scope. The role will manage a team of Regulatory Specialists, ensuring compliance to all internal and external regulatory requirements and policies. They will also be responsible for leading the claims strategy for the business, ensuring that products and communications are developed to maximize relevance and drive credibility for our brands. Days will be fast-paced and exciting, full of opportunities to collaborate with bright minds making a meaningful impact on the business. The Regulatory Manager will sit on the Regulatory & Consumer Wellness Leadership team to develop functional priorities, best practices, and identification of short and long term advocacy priorities.
**A day in the life of a Regulatory Manager**:
- Manage a team of Regulatory Specialists to deliver against business regulatory and compliance priorities, removal of barriers and identification of opportunities to senior leadership team and build people capabilities to ensure a competitive mindset.
- Lead risk management and mitigation for the Business Units to ensure key stakeholders within the organization make informed regulatory decisions.
- Responsible for leading the claims strategy for the business to support the development of products and communications that drive consumer relevancy and trust in our brands.
- Responsible for sharing regulatory knowledge & best practices within the regulatory and consumer wellness function
- Engage with key associations, industry working groups and authorities at the national level on specific issues that identifies compliance challenge opportunities and proactively influences the regulatory environment.
**What will make you successful?**
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Regulatory Affairs within food and beverage industry, regulatory consulting, trade association or government health agencies.
- Recognized education related to Regulatory Affairs; Master’s degree in Life Sciences or related area (e.g., nutrition, biochemistry, pharmacology, food science, toxicology, law).
- Successful people management experience and/or proven senior stakeholder engagement.
- Competencies must include business acumen, approachability, excellent judgment, and great interpersonal skills.
- Must be proactive, service and detail-oriented as well as able to handle multiple priorities/deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with external stakeholder management, such as with industry groups and government, e.g., FHCP, Health Canada, etc.
- In-depth regulatory knowledge of local legislation in from experience and qualifications.
