LaPrairie Works Inc is currently recruiting **Chip Seal Operations Crew Members **to support operations throughout the **Peace Region of Alberta **with the possibility of other locations dependent on work requirements.

The Chip Seal Operations Crew Member supports various operations within Chip Seal programs including multiple types of equipment utilized within the chip seal surface maintenance and repair of gravel roads and paved highways.

**Position Responsibilities**
- Perform various manual tasks related to Chip Seal operations
- The potential for heavy equipment operation of various sizes and weights
- Communicates problems/hazards to the attention of the on-site foreman/superintendent
- Understand and follow daily procedures, and safety protocols as set forth in job orientations and program training
- Perform routine pre/post operating inspections on assigned equipment and refer defects and any needed repairs to the supervisor
- Keep equipment surfaces and operator cabin areas clean and disinfected prior to and immediately following operation
- Assist in the installation and maintenance of traffic control devices within the work zone
- Control traffic at worksites by flagging to guide traffic safely through work areas, as required or assigned

**Qualifications and Experience**
- Previous experience with equipment operations such as pneumatic rollers, sweepers, loaders, skid steers and various hand tools and manual equipment
- Valid Class 5 Driver's License, non-GDL
- Alberta Temporary Traffic Control (Flagger Certification - training available)
- Two years’ experience related to highway maintenance or highway construction operations is an asset
- Ability to follow and execute prescribed mathematical formulae to assist with QA/QC tasks on-site and to complete written documentation (training to be provided)
