We are seeking a full-time, permanent Woodlands Coordinator to join our team. Reporting directly to the Operations Superintendent, the successful candidate will work with the team to ensure the safe delivery and handling of high-quality logs and chips to the MPR mill.  Roles and Responsibilities: Develop and maintain a positive relationship to be the preferred customer for the coniferous fibre suppliers (Sawmills). Collaborate with Sawmills on chip quality assurance and continuous improvement initiatives, including the reduction of fines and bark, and drive innovation and adaptability in coniferous harvesting, sawmill processing, and maintenance for issues such as fire salvage. Manage contractors responsible for logging and hauling approximately 250,000 m3 of fibre.  Develop budgetary scale/yard plans while monitoring and being accountable for expenditures. Participate in budget and business planning.  Develop and manage all residual fiber contracts and monitor monthly rates with coniferous suppliers. Maintain a high degree of awareness of other pulp and sawmill producers’ coniferous sources. Implement the Annual Operating Plans (“AOPs”) and inspection of operations with regard to AOP standards, regulations, Environmental Management System, Quality and Health & Safety programs. Liaise with Government officials on approvals and updates. Act as the company representative for regulatory agencies and industry stakeholders. Arrange and maintain the Company’s road maintenance and third-party roads, etc. Maintain team awareness of potential fibre handling concerns (example: plastic, carbon and moisture content) Responsible for TM9 load ticket systems (LoaderWiz software, tablets, printers, and Legacy Logit units) Collaborate with the MPR wood processing team to support yard management, initiatives and processes (ie dumper outages) Perform other related duties as required to support team initiatives and operational continuity. Qualifications and Experience Degree or Certificate in Forestry. Member or eligible to become a member of the College of Alberta Professional Foresters or the College of Alberta Professional Forest Technologists.  Minimum of 2 years of related experience.  Must possess a valid Alberta Class 5 Operator’s license. Experience in contractor supervision, as well as harvesting operational experience. Proficiency with GPS technology, utilizing the current version of ArcGIS Leadership abilities, specifically in contractor management.  Strong written and verbal communication skills.
