Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a large heavy civil construction company specializing in heavy civil excavation and flatworks, pipeline placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We are currently looking to hire an **Estimator** to join our growing team in the HRM area.

**Duties and Responsibilities**:

- Read blueprints in order to estimate project cost effectively.
- Performing quantity takeoffs and preparing estimates of probable costs.
- Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers on various estimates towards the construction project.
- Prepare a summary of the quantities in terms of the plans and specs.
- Examining and analyzing tender documents, requests for proposals, and requests for quotations.
- Liaising, consulting, and communicating with engineers, architects, owners, and contractors.

**Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, and Experience**:

- University degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering or a Diploma in Construction Management Technology or Civil Engineering Technology.
- Extensive experience estimating provincial and municipal & commercial projects.
- Working knowledge of various Estimating and CAD software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Professional attitude, punctual, assertive, and personable.
- Must have strong communication, time management and organizational skills.
