Foreman - Powerline

Reporting to the Supervisor, the Foreman position is responsible for providing support and guidance to an assigned Crew with a focus on safety, quality and productivity. The primary focus will be to act as a working Foreman, who demonstrates and mentors crew members on the proper work methods required to complete assigned tasks safely and effectively for the Acheson AB area.
**The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to**:
**SAFETY**
- Performs work in a safe and environmentally focused manner through the use of pre-job planning, hazard analysis, risk mitigation and following all applicable safe work practices and procedures.
- Ensures workers performs tasks only when deemed competent to do so.
- Bring forward HS&E concerns, so they can be appropriately addressed, while looking out for yourself and co-workers.
- Ensures operation of equipment and company vehicles are in a safe and respectful manner, ensuring adherence to FBL Fleet and the HS&E program.
- Identify and provide input into the development of safe work practices, procedures and HS&E improvements.
**QUALITY**
- Ensuring quality, conformance to requirements and assigned drawings
- Formal inspection, monitoring and reporting of crew activities to the Construction Manager or Supervisor.
- Maintains accurate time records including phase codes and hours, quality reports and all other required job -specific paperwork.
**PRODUCTIVITY**
- Plans daily activities utilizing tailboards
- Ensure workers are fit for duty
- Ensures tasks are completed to specification
- Manage crew concerns and issues and elevate when required
- Working with crew members for completing tasks
- Ensure tailboards are done for any work deviation
**CONTIOUS IMPROVEMENT**
- Identifies and makes recommendations for improvement of work methods to the leadership team at the construction site
**PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT**
- Performance evaluations of assigned employees/crew members (30,60,90 day evaluations and day-to-day performance observations)
- Supervises all employees assigned to a specific crew/area/zone; provides feedback, enforces company practices and administers disciplinary measures as required.
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE**
- Journeyperson Certificate/Red Seal Certificate
- 3 - 5 years experience working in the trade as a Journeyman
- 1 - 3 years experience working in a Lead hand position
**SKILLS AND ABILITIES**
- Strong leadership and team building skills, including the ability to lead by example, build consensus, actively listen, and engage/influence employees at all levels
- Task-orientated with strong attention to details and follow through
- Comfortable working in a fast paced, time sensitive environment
- Strong ethics, professionalism, and interpersonal skills
- Excellent organization skills and ability to manage a variety of tasks simultaneously
- Results oriented individual with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and timelines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to take and/or provide direction
- Strong work ethic with a positive team attitude
- Computer skills an asset
**ADDITIONAL DETAILS**
- Successfully complete pre-employment drug and alcohol testing to obtain clearance letter for site access
- Valid Driver's licenses and acceptable divers abstract is required, as this position requires driving and site visits
- Requires regular travel to various project sites and office locations
- Ability to travel to and work at project locations situated throughout North America
