**The Opportunity**

As **Conference & Event Planner/Administrative Assistant **your primary function is to provide administrative support services to the Manager and department.

Key accountabilities include, but aren't limited to:
a) Arrange meetings, events and conferences; contact participants; arrange venue and catering;
b) Make travel arrangements and monitor travel expense claims;
c) Meet with sponsors and organizing committees to plan scope and format of events, to review and monitor budgets and to review administrative and conference procedures and progress of events;
d) Co-ordinate services for events, such as accommodation and transportation for participants, conference and other facilities, catering, signage, displays, translation, special needs requirements, audio-visual equipment, printing and security;
e) Organize registration of participants, prepare programs and distribute conference
event material, and publicize events;
f) Plan entertainment and social gatherings for participants;
g) Ensure compliance with required by-laws;
h) Source and compare contracts for services, review suppliers' invoices, maintain financial records, review final billing submitted by vendors for events and prepare reports ;
i) Maintain and update the organization’s conference planning guide;
j) Prepare meeting materials for online posting for the Web;
**More About You**
- Grade 12 education supplemented by secretarial and computer course(s)
- Minimum 2 years relevant experience as outlined in rated requirements
- Minimum typing speed 45 wpm
- Intermediate skill in MS Outlook
- Advanced skill in MS Word
- Intermediate skill in MS Excel
- Basic skill in MS Access
- Basic skill in MS PowerPoint
- OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- All LABC employees are required to provide proof of full COVID-19 vaccination as a condition of hire and ongoing employment._
