Estimator/technical Sales

Located in Ottawa, Ontario, UTILITY STRUCTURES INC. (USI) was established in 1991 and began manufacturing concrete products for the general construction industry. The product line and manufacturing facility has grown to include concrete poles, Underground Utility Products,
Highway/Security Barriers, Pole Bases, Bollards and much more.

USI is part of The Precast Group, which is the largest precast concrete products producer in Eastern Ontario. The Precast Group has three manufacturing operations: Central Precast, M Con Products and Utility Structures Inc. We have an immediate opening for a**:Estimator/Technical Sales**

Overview

The primary responsibilities of this position are to perform material take-offs and estimates for our Utility division, which includes electrical underground products, highways barriers, pole bases, custom precast and more. This position is in a fast-paced work environment and Individuals must be able to work under pressure, unsupervised, while maintaining a positive attitude and great attention to detail.

**Responsibilities**:

- Interpret civil drawings and extract required information
- Promote sales to existing clients and solicit new clients
- Work with company engineering department to ensure projects are processed accordingly
- Provide technical services to contractors and consultants
- Prepare plant shop drawings for manufacturing
- Provide sales quotes and drawings for approval
- Provide estimates, & sales quotes for specialty jobs
- Enter new orders and create job files
- Coordinate customer orders - from material take off to quoting and order entry, to coordinating with production and delivery team
- Oversee our QC department, to ensure that we maintain our CSA certification

**Qualifications**:

- College Diploma minimum; ideally a graduate of construction engineering technician, civil engineering technology program
- In-depth knowledge and experience with AutoCAD
- Working knowledge of OPS & MTO construction specifications
- Be eligible for accreditation as a (C.E.T) Certified Engineering Technologist or Technician
- Working knowledge of concrete and aggregates

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to develop and maintain trusted customer relationships
- Sales experience required
- Strong computer skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office Applications including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
- A team player with a positive attitude
- Must demonstrate self-assurance and self-confidence in a demanding atmosphere
- Civil field experience is an asset
- Willing and able to travel and a valid Driver’s License and clean Driver’s Abstract

**Compensation Offer**
- Salary $58,000 - $68,000 annually (depending on experience)
- Permanent, Full-time, 42.5 hours/week
- Located in Nepean, Ontario
