**_Job Description _**

The Development Coordinator will work primarily from Head Office and will mainly focus on the coordination required to facilitate the preparation and completion of development projects. The secondary focus will consist of Land Use Planning research, collecting property data information and municipal Planning/Building Department reports and approvals. The Development Coordinator will collect and prepare the information in consultation with the Development Manager in an orderly, logical format to brief and/or discuss with the Land Development team.

**_Primary Responsibilities _**
- Coordinate the preparation of permits submissions and facilitate the issuance of building permits
- Assist the development team with the filing, submitting, and obtaining of approval for: Right-of-Way, Encroachment, Road

Closure, Tower Crane, and Water Discharge (Permits) to facilitate construction site activities
- Provide general assistance to the Land Development team, as required
- Conducts site visits and preliminary site analysis, as required
- Attend community meetings and industry events
- Other duties within the scope, spirit, and purpose of the job, as requested by management

**_Educational Requirements & Desired Skills and Experience_**

**Educational Requirements**:

- College Diploma (Civil Technologist or Architectural Technologist) or University Degree (Urban Planning, Geography or

Architecture)
- Prior Related Experience**_
- Previous related experience in municipal planning; land development, land use consulting firm, or any other related land use development work is an asset with a **minimum of 0-3 years related experience**

**_Required Skills _**:

- _ **Microsoft Office software, including Excel, Word, and Outlook**
- Knowledge of Municipal Planning Policies and the Planning Act
- Knowledge of planning process and planning theory
- Negotiation and mediation skills
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
- Time management skills

- Effective verbal, presentation and listening communications
- Ability to review and analyze site plans, surveys, architectural & landscape plans
- Positive attitude, team player and professional demeanor
