**Essential Job Functions**:

- Plan and execute small-scale automation projects, ensuring timely delivery within budget constraints,
- Continuously improve planning and delivery methodologies to maximize project efficiency and profitability,
- Maintain regular communication with customers to foster strong, trusted relationships and ensure satisfaction,
- Serve as a technical resource for team members across the organization, providing guidance and support as needed,
- Control system software design and programming for PLC’s, HMI’s, and VFD’s,
- Building and configuring interfaces for third party software tools,
- Updating and/or preparing written project documentation, including process control narratives, factory and site acceptance and commissioning test plans,
- Preparing customer training materials and delivering training on control systems, as required,
- Completion of factory acceptance testing of control systems to verify site operation and acceptance,
- Commissioning and site acceptance testing of control systems to verify site operation and acceptance,
- Diagnosing and servicing, whether on-site or remotely, existing installed customer systems to address reported system issues,
- Looking to convert customer business problems into additional service opportunities by promoting all of the organizations business offerings, including suggesting maintenance/upgrades,
- Analyzing and solving complex client problems through creative and innovative solutions,
- Combining subsystems together to offer an integrated product that helps clients achieve their goals,
- Traveling to customer locations to program, setup, and/or troubleshoot,
- Communicating with project team members on project status,
- Working alone on small projects, or working as part of a team on larger projects, including collaborating with other disciplines to ensure effective overall systems design,
- Working with Project Managers, the Technical Services Supervisor, or Estimator providing technical expertise for customer proposals.

**Education and Experience Required**:
**Knowledge**
- Proficient in Rockwell RSLogix and FactoryTalk View ME/SE programming,
- Familiar with Modicon, and Siemens PLC and HMI programming,
- Experienced with AutoCAD.

**Abilities**
- Able to analyze systems engineering and automation problems and devise creative and innovative solutions,
- Able to understand industrial control devices such as PLCs, drives, protection relays, HMIs, etc.
- Understanding of power generation, management, distribution, and conversion systems.
- Able to strive to find new and innovative ways to improve job efficiency and quality,
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment,
- Must be able to work occasionally on weekends, late shifts and extra-long days.

**Typically, the above qualifications would be attained by**:

- Post-secondary education in a related field, an engineering degree is preferred,
- 2-5 years of field experience with industrial automation and control systems, or systems integration,
- Experience in the food and beverage, alternative fuels, and/or municipal water is preferred,
- Possessing a valid class G2 Driver’s License, or better, with a clean driving record and access to a reliable means of transportation,
- Must be willing to be part of an on-call rotation,
- A 442A Industrial Electrician qualification, or willingness to obtain, would be considered an asset,
