**OVERVIEW**: Quality of our parts and our process are essential to our growing success and reputation. Having competent controllers of these two core aspects of our program position us to grow and succeed. These competent controllers are defined as follows:
**JOB DESCRIPTION**
A Machinist is responsible for ensuring the part is manufactured safely, efficiently and in accordance with B&R manufacturing standards including material, paperwork, outsourcing results, inspections, basic programming, awareness of part planning, awareness of cutting dynamics and making ongoing adjustments based on cutting conditions. A machinist is aware of and responsible for machine movement during program execution. All machinists are expected to posture their development within the framework of B&R’s core values.
**REQUIREMENTS/EXPERIENCE**
- Capable of conducting all required tasks listed below independently
- 3+ years of CNC machining experience
- 1+ years experience in an aerospace environment an asset
- 3+ year programming experience in field an asset
**EDUCATION**
- No Education is required for this position
**TASKS**
**MACHINE**
- Ensure machine is operating in a safe manner
- Operate machine controller effectively
- Awareness of machine capacity and capabilities
- Loading and unloading of parts, fixtures and tools safely and competently
- Basic machine repair including removal and installation of accessible parts
- Keep work area clean and free of FOD
**TOOLS**
- Ensure tools used are appropriate in accuracy and quality to complete the task
- Maintain measurement devices by handling them according to their value and accuracy
**PARTS**
- Set up and machine parts in accordance with B&R standard practices and workmanship expectations
- Measure features to ensure specifications are met according to planned process
- Identify/compensate for part treatment processes, such as heat treatments and coatings, and how they will affect the part form and size
**PROCESS**
- Uses sound logic and/or peer support to complete unproven or critical tasks
- Identify problem areas and report to shop foremen and/or scheduler if production or safety is at risk
- Regularly engages in conflict resolution
- Use CAD/CAM software to control toolpaths
**Shift Availability**
- Day Shift, Monday - Friday, starting at 7:00AM. 44 Hour work weeks are expected
- Afternoon Shift, Monday-Thursday, starting at 3PM. 44 hour work weeks are expected
- Weekend Shift, Friday-Sunday, starting at various times. Work for 33hr, paid for 40.
**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent
**Salary**: $24.00-$35.00 per hour
