Role Description
This is a full-time on-site role located in Puslinch, ON, for a Manual Machinist. The Manual Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of manual machine tools, including lathes, mills, and grinders, to produce precision parts and components. Key tasks include performing measurements, ensuring adherence to blueprints or specifications, maintaining equipment, and inspecting final products for accuracy and quality. Collaboration with team members and adherence to safety protocols are essential aspects of this role.
Qualifications
- Experience with operating manual machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
- Proficiency in measurements, including the use of calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
- Strong attention to detail and a focus on producing high-quality products within specified tolerances.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and familiarity with maintaining and troubleshooting shop equipment.
- Knowledge of workplace health and safety standards applicable to a machining environment.
- Relevant certifications or completion of an apprenticeship program is an asset but not mandatory.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage time effectively in a fast-paced workshop.
